The Week from H-E-Double Hockey Sticks

It started well.

On Friday, my sister and I went on a little RoadTrip! to attend a surprise party for my Fairy Godmother, Beth.

This was the FIRST time I was ever away overnight from my babies (except when they were in the NICU).

It was a BIG deal. Poppa Bear even had to take the night off of work to stay home with the Bears in order for me to attend the festivities.

Earlier last week, Little Bear showed signs of diarrhea (if you're squeemish..stop here). But I figured it was from teething.

Nope, not the case.

BOTH Bears were hit with the dreaded stomach flu. Poor Poppa Bear was home all alone, on a Friday night, with two babies that had major diarrhea.

And I was 3 hours away.

Poppa Bear did so well though. Changing diaper after diaper, outfit after outfit, giving bath after bath.

When I returned home on Saturday, I figured Poppa Bear would run for the hills. But he didn't. The house was clean, a load of the bears' clothes were in the wash. Everything was calm and cool.

Good job daddy! You rock!

So the bears have been on a bland, no dairy diet since Saturday. Today marks their first day back to their regularly scheduled program. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

In addition to the Stomach Flu, the fellas caught a cold. Just a runny nose cold, but enough to make them a tad whiny.

But that's not the worst of it. I got the worst of it. Who gets a cold in June? And from whom did I catch this cold?

I was up until 3am. Here I sit, at my desk at work, suffering with a runny AND stuffy nose (I still don't understand how that is even possible), sore throat, eyes watering constantly, and a body that aches all over the place.

So.Not.Right.

Mom's should not even be ABLE to get sick.

So now you know why this week has been the week from H-E-Double Hockey Sticks. I'm over it.

  1. That really stinks! At least there's no more "extra wash" being produced because of the stomach flu. Question is...where did they get the stomach flu from? They're kept at home while you work aren't they?

Part of your symptoms sound sort of like allergies. The runny nose and watery eyes are definietely allergic reactions to something. But the stuffy nose and achy body don't match. Hmmm. Weird.

Hope you're feeling better really soon,
    Pam
