This weeks prompts are:
- What do you consider necessary to get through the day? (items, routines, coffee, etc.)
- What do you do on your commute to work - listen to the radio, enjoy peace and quiet, etc.
I do the same exact thing, at the same exact time (give or take a minute or two), every single day. If something is done out of order it seriously throws off my morning and eventually my whole day.
OCD much?
When I wake in the morning, the first thing I do is check on the fellas and re-tuck them in. After that I head down to the kitchen, pack my lunch, start the coffee, and feed the animals.
From there I head up to the shower. The order in which I do things does not change, ever. Wash face, wash & condition hair, wash body, shave if need be. Once out, I dry off, tweese, moisturize face, put on deodorant, and then moisturize my body. At this time I put on my cozy clothes, put on makeup, blow-dry my hair, and brush my teeth. Once my body, face, and hair are ready for the day, I get dressed, add jewelry and perfume. I then check on the boys again, stare at them for a few minutes, blow them kisses, and off to work I go.
I am not kidding when I say this, the order above is the order it is done every single work day.
I'll completely understand if you stop following me after reading this. I know that I am weird and need some professional help.
So tell me, what do you find necessary to make it through the day? Be sure to leave a comment
i loved your post Erin... esp at the end about us working mommies who "get a break"!! ;)
ReplyDeleteyour routine is so funny. But you know exactly how long it takes you and it works!!! i still think you're crazy though!
I just finished cleaning off my laptop keyboard with a Q-tip. So, yah, I can relate to the whole OCD thing. Routines are really important; I really need to get me one of those.
ReplyDeletetoo funny! No, you're not crazy. Your just a mom. Aren't we all?
ReplyDeleteI too have crazy routines!
ReplyDeleteI love routines, but I'm not organized to be as consistent as you!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rachel...I love routines but I am not consistent at all! Great post!
ReplyDeleteTo get through the day, I must have caffeine sometime around noon. Not too much before, but it can be 1 p.m. if I end up eating late. Some mornings, I barely hum along until I remember I get a pick-me-up at lunch. Nothing like an addiction...
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog thru SITS... was looking to read more working-mom blogs. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm similar to you w/ my morning OCD routine. My big thing about making it through the day is staying connected and finding little moments to chat with friends on Twitter & FB.
